Ski Day!

Yesterday I took a vacation day and a friend and I drove up to Winterplace to ski for the day. Winterplace is located in Ghent, WV, and is approximately 2 & 1/2 hours away. On a day like yesterday, it is worth every minute of the drive. We left the house at 6:00am, and after a breakfast stop on the way, we were standing in line to buy a lift ticket. 10 minutes to gear up, and we were on the lift by 9:15. It was a bit cloudy, and we wondered if we would be getting the snow that was forcasted. Not too long after our first run, the wind picked up and blew the clouds away to reveal a turquoise blue sky.
Cell phone pictures do not do it justice! One thing you can see from these pictures is that they really have snow! In years past when I have been up here skiing, it was a lot of man made snow, and all the surrounding country was brown. You can see here that there is snow everywhere you look. Yesterday was possibly one of the best days for skiing I have had in a long time.
I am so glad I went!
